Webcasting 101: TV on Your PC
by Kendall Callas
Wandering the vast unmapped reaches of the Internet on your behalf, I have turned up another example of a law firm webcast which I submit for your interest.

WHAT’S ON TONIGHT?

Watch a nice little piece of video at the law offices of Hogan & Hartson, a top international law firm with over 1,000 lawyers in 23 offices across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Visit www.hhlaw.com, click ‘ABOUT US’ at top left, then ‘Pro Bono’ at mid-screen on the second menu line, followed by “Video” mid- screen. Or go to

“Hogan & Hartson”
[play
button]http://www.hhlaw.com/probono/video

Click “CSD VIDEO” at the lower left corner, then select your connection speed (56K, 100K, 300K) near the bottom, and click the “Launch Presentation” button at bottom.

The Hogan & Hartson Community Services Department offers a short, heartfelt webcast (10:11) highlighting the firm’s pro bono victories.

The opening sequence of static images with voiceover delivers an enjoyable experience even at dialup speed. The video plays in a funny little customized frame with player controls. The “Check Bandwidth” feature didn’t work for me.

(Media player required: Windows Media Player.)

Too many webcasts, not enough time. If you see streaming audio or video you think would be of interest to our readers, please URL and description.
