WordPerfect Certifies Kendall Callas,
San Francisco PC Users Group President

San Francisco -- WordPerfect Corporation has awarded special status to Kendall Callas, president of the San Francisco PC Users Group. After a 25-hour exam to prove his mastery of WordPerfect software, Mr. Callas earned the distinction of "Certified Instructor". Mr. Callas is president of microCounsel, which offers personal computer support to the legal community.

Mr. Callas, now in his second term as president of the 600-member San Francisco Personal Computer User Group, has been a prominent member of the local computer consulting community for 9 years. He is a frequent author of newspaper and magazine articles on WordPerfect and law office computing.

About the San Francisco PC Users Group

Founded in 1982, the SF PC Users Group is the oldest and largest support group for users of IBM compatible personal computers in the Bay Area. A non-profit corporation, it provides a forum for education and information sharing within the personal computing community.

The group publishes a monthly magazine, maintains a software library, a telephone hotline, and a dial-up electronic bulletin board, and sponsors monthly classes, presentations, software demos, question and answer sessions, discussion groups, and workshops.

Mr. Callas founded microCounsel in 1983. The firm provides office automation consulting and personal computer training and support to the legal profession.

San Francisco -- InfoWorld this week features a profile of Kendall Callas. InfoWorld, the major weekly newspaper of the computer industry, highlights the activities of Mr. Callas as a computer consultant and president of the San Francisco PC Users Group, one of the nation's top personal computer user groups. New Newsletter for Law Office WordPerfect Managers

San Francisco -- WordPerfect in the Law Office, a monthly newsletter, will be launched on June 1st. Kendall Callas, a veteran consultant and "WordPerfect Certified Instructor", inaugurates the publication as a resource for the legions of harried managers of WordPerfect in law offices -- solo attorneys, office managers, word processing supervisors, and system administrators. The goal of the new publication is to provide brief, practical solutions to manage the technical and human issues of using WordPerfect successfully in the practice of law.

Mr. Callas, president of microCounsel which consults with law firms to improve office productivity using WordPerfect, comments:

"Abraham Lincoln said `We're all so damn busy choppin' wood, we don't have time to sharpen the ax.' In my work with law firms, I've seen too many users equipped with sledge hammers!" explains Mr. Callas. He is one of 12 WordPerfect Certified Instructors in the state of California. The article on page 32 of the September 1994 issue highlights the WordPerfect training and macro programming services he provides to boost productivity for California firms. Explaining why consultants can be more effective than employees, Mr. Callas says:

Macro Package Endorsed by Public Interest Clearinghouse

The Public Interest Clearinghouse is a non-profit support center for over 200 public interest law firms in California and Nevada. The macro package augments WordPerfect with tools to save time and expand capabilities.
